SAMUDRAM PACKAGE

Leaving from Kochi and reaching Lakshadweep for a five-day cruise package is the mv Kavaratti, on the Samudram package. It is available from October to May. Passengers are taken to visit the islands of Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy. Accommodation consists of 100 Diamond class and 76 Gold class. This package is only for Indian nationals.

En route to Lakshadweep, on the ship itself, the tourists get an introduction to the islands, its history, people, lifestyle and culture. A short film is played on the ship. You can learn about the coral reefs, its management and protection, as well as get a glimpse of the vast marine world of underwater life of the islands.

After spending the nights on the ship itself, the visitors are taken for day excursions to various islands, where they can engage in leisure and adventure activities. Angling, boating, swimming, Scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling and surfing are some of the things you can do here. All the refreshments and snacks are had on the islands.
Besides water sports, guests are treated to a host of art and cultural programmes by the natives. Folk dances keep you glued to your seat while the performers enthrall you. For sightseeing, you will be visiting the Tuna Factory, Marine Museum, and Park, as well as to the villages.

CORAL REEF PACKAGE (By MV ARABIAN SEA)
This five-day package is by the mv Arabian Sea. The Coral Reef takes you to Kavaratti, Kalpeni, Minicoy and Kadmat islands. The mv Arabian Sea has two Diamond Class, eight First Class and 54 Tourist class accommodation options. Tourists spend the night on the ship and in the mornings, proceed to the various islands for day excursions.

Along with lunch and refreshments, the passengers get snacks ashore. Make sure you visit the islands' villages and interact with the locals. You can learn a lot about Lakshadweep and its history from them. Those who love the sea should try their hands at water sports. Take your pick from Scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing and kayaking. You can also go deep sea fishing.

MARINE WEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAMME
The Marine Wealth Awareness Programme is an opportunity to explore the coral-rich island of Kadmat. This four to seven day package takes people on the following ships: mv KAVARATTI, mv ARABIAN SEA, mv LAKSHADWEEP SEA, mv AMINDIVI and mv MINICOY.

Going on Scuba dives will enable you to find many different types of fish, turles, rays, sharks and corals. The staff at the well-equipped water sports institute at Kadmat will help you choose the best sport you'll love. Options other than Scuba diving are kayaking, wind surfing and para sailing.

TARATASHI PACKAGE
Ships such as the mv Arabian Sea, mv Lakshadweep Sea, mvAmindivi, mv Minicoy and mv Kavaratti take passengers on the Taratashi Package to visit Kavaratti. The whole cruise package last for up to five days, and in the meantime, visitors get to discover Kavaratti, the administrative capital of Lakshadweep.

There are AC and non AC rooms available for tourists. You can also stay in dormitories on the island. Glass bottomed boating is a soothing way to check out the blue waters around the island. The lagoons are open for cruises and dives. Many water sports agencies are operated on the island that will rent you the necessary crew and equipment for the dives.

WEEKEND TOURIST PACKAGE
This one-day excursion package is open from Kochi and Mangalore. Mangalore is located on the southwestern coast of Karnataka. The tourists are taken to visit Kalpeni Island. The ship leaves either of these ports on Saturdays and returns on Mondays. The Sundays are spent on the island, exploring it. It's your best chance to go boating, angling, diving and kayaking.

SCUBA DIVE PACKAGE
This package is open to all above 14 years and runs for five to eight days. Diamond, Gold and Silver classes are available for transportation. Children below 14 will be accommodated at 50% of the charges.
PADI Open Water Dive Course and PADI Scuba Diving Experience Programme are offered at the Dolphin Dive centre, Kavaratti. All diving equipment will be provided. You will need to have swimming skills and produce a doctor's certificate showing you are fit for diving.

INCREDIBLE ISLANDS
This is one of the latest tourist packages offered to tourists visiting Lakshadweep. With twice-a-week departures, it covers Agatti, Kadmat and Kavaratti islands. It conncects Kochi - Agatti - Kadmat and Kochi - Agatti - Kavaratti by flight and speedboat.

Agatti is where Lakshadweep's airport is located. There are many diving and fishing sites and lagoons here. Not to forget the awesome seafood dishes you get at the resort – that's another reason to visit Agatti. At Kadmat, you can go swimming among coral gardens. There's an excellent diving centre, too, here.

This package includes food, accommodation, local sightseeing, folk dance performances and a few water sport activities. For an extra charge, you can take up island visits, scuba diving and parasailing.
